Plastic Pollution Solution

Plastic

We're worried about plastic!

Did you know that the world produces more than 380 million tonnes of plastic each year? Most of these are single-use plastics such as shopping bags, cups and straws. It is estimated that 14 million tonnes enter the ocean.

Dee Why Public School was fortunate enough to have a visit from Anthony Hill from Plastic Pollution Solutions. Anthony travels in his van (called Bev) all around Australia visiting schools and communities to educate them about single-use plastic. Anthony‘s interactive workshop, educates students about the global problem of plastic pollution, and its impact on our environment, wildlife and humans. He provided resources and ideas to help reduce single-use plastic waste every day at school (and at home), so we can have cleaner streets, oceans and communities. Students had many ideas to reduce the amount of plastic they use, from reusable straws, saying no to plastic water bottles and using cloth shopping bags.

Have a chat with your child to see what you can do to make a difference! Be sure to check out Anthony's website for more information https://plasticpollutionsolutions.com.au/
