Dancesport 2024

We went dancing!

Wow, what a night! Our Year 5 Students headed to Dee Why RSL to compete in the Dancesport Gala. Excitement and nerves filled the air as the students entered the performance hall. The Dancesport program at school has run for 15 weeks and has taught students ballroom dances such as the Cha Cha, Tango and Jive. At the beginning of the program, many students were apprehensive to dance with a partner, but by the end, many students were asking when they could go out and practice the dances again.  

For each of the dances, three couples were chosen to receive a special wristband, which got them through to the semi-finals. 

Many of the students also made it to the finals, where they all placed in the top 10 couples! 

Dee Why Public School students should be congratulated for a super contribution to the spirit and success of the program. Congratulations Dee Why!
